Mobile Phones and History

 We are living in an era where mobile phones are an integral part of life. But if we look back 50 years, the first mobile phone was invented by Martin Cooper in New York City in 1973 with the weight of 2 kg. So it was almost impossible to carry it in a pocket. Initially it was a wireless device that use to make and receive calls. At that time people don't even imagine that they will see each other from one corner of the earth to another. With the passage of time technology bring changes and this device became capable of sending and receiving text messages. It also become smaller as engineers added more feathers in it like MMS, later on Camera and multi media player for audios and videos. After that mobile phones started to be manufactured with the access to Internet 2G. Which is known as data services. Where people have access to weather, news, sports updates and much less area of internet. Engineers also added the feature of “Bluetooth” which helps users to share their data like images, files, audios and videos. 



On 29 June 2007 technology bring big change in mobile phone world when Apple Inc. launched smart phone called iPhone. It was small device that made use of touch screen technology. Also most expensive mobile phone as Apple Inc. charges $499 for 4 GB and $599 for 8 GB storage. There were many features like visual voicemails, Safari web, multi-touch gestures, a YouTube app, email, an iPod player and GPS-enabled weather forecasts. On 11 July 2008 Apple Inc. launched their second smart phone “iPhone3G” at the cost of $199 and $299 for 4GB and 8GB storage and on 19 June 2009 they launched their third smartphone “iPhone 3GS” with more specs and features at the cost of $599 and $699. Samsung launched their first smart phone on 29 June 2009 with android operating system.
